Managing labels
In Reporting, labels enable you to filter the Reports page and Dashboards page based on qualities that other report and dashboard properties (such as creation date or author) do not capture. For example, you can create and assign a Vulnerability label and then filter the Reports page to show only reports that present data pertaining to vulnerabilities. Reports and dashboards share the same set of labels.
Tanium assigns predefined labels to Tanium-managed reports and dashboards. You can add custom labels to both Tanium-managed and user-configured reports and dashboards. If you remove a Tanium-assigned label from a Tanium-managed report or dashboard, Reporting might reassign the label after an upgrade
Before you begin
You require the following role permissions to work with labels:
- Reporting Category read permission is required to:
- View the Labels list and label assignments. The list appears on the Reports and Dashboards pages. Label assignments are visible in individual reports and dashboards.
- Apply labels as a filter on the Reports and Dashboards pages.
- Filter the Labels list by favorites and sort the list.
- Change the favorite status of labels.
- Manage label assignments (assign or unassign) for reports and dashboards.
- Reporting Category write permission is required to:
- Create labels.
- Edit labels.
- Delete labels.
