Tanium deployment overview
This guide describes reference information for the Tanium™ Core Platform and Tanium™ Clients.
The hardened physical or virtual Tanium Appliance is designed for the low-latency and high-throughput needs of the Tanium Core Platform. For additional deployment information and procedures, see the Tanium Appliance Installation Guide.
You can deploy the Tanium Core Platform servers on customer-provided Windows Server hardware. For additional deployment information and procedures, see the Tanium Core Platform Deployment Guide for Windows.
Tanium™ as a Service (recommended)
You can deploy the Tanium Core Platform as a cloud-based service with no customer-provided infrastructure. For additional deployment information and procedures, see the Tanium as a Service User Guide.
The Tanium Core Platform in an Appliance or Windows deployment includes the following server types:
- Tanium™ Server
- Tanium™ Module Server
- Tanium™ Zone Server
