Installing Console

Tanium Cloud automatically handles module installations and upgrades.

Use the Tanium Console Solutions page to install Console 2.1 or later and choose automatic or manual configuration:

Automatic configuration with dependencies: Console is installed with any required dependencies and other selected solutions. This option is the best practice for most deployments. For more information, see Import Console with dependencies.
Manual configuration without dependencies: Console is installed without any required dependencies or other solutions. For more information, see Import Console without dependencies.

In Tanium Core Platform versions earlier than 7.4.2.2063, the Tanium Server automatically imports the Console workbench and Console content set after you install the server and sign in to Tanium Console for the first time.

Before you begin

Read the release notes.
Review the Console Requirements.
Assign the correct roles to users for Console. Review the User role requirements.
- To import the Console solution, you must be assigned the Administrator reserved role.

Import Console with dependencies

No default settings are configured for Console.

To import Console with required dependencies, be sure to select the Apply Tanium recommended configurations check box while performing the steps in Tanium Console User Guide: Manage Tanium solutions. After the import, verify that the correct version is installed: see Verify the Console version.

Import Console without dependencies

To import Console without any required dependencies, clear the Apply All Tanium recommended configurations check box while performing the steps in Tanium Console User Guide: Import, re-import, or update specific solutions. After the import, verify that the correct version is installed: see Verify the Console version.

Upgrade Console

For the steps to upgrade Console, see Tanium Console User Guide: Manage Tanium solutions. After the upgrade, verify that the correct version is installed: see Verify the Console version.

Verify the Console version

After you import or upgrade Console, verify that the correct version is installed:

Refresh your browser.
From the Main menu, go to Modules > Console to open the Console Overview page.
To display version information, click Info .
